Subscriber Terms of Service

1. What Veredus is, and is not

Veredus is a research platform for UK & Irish horse racing. It publishes racing data and analytics computed from that data: descriptive statistics, ratings and point-in-time features. It does not provide predictions, tips, selections, staking advice or any recommendation about what you should do with the information. Anything you decide on the basis of the platform is your decision and your responsibility.

The analytics are computed from historical results. Historical patterns are facts about the past; they are not statements about the future, and we make no representation that any figure will hold going forward.

2. Accounts

• You need an account to use the subscriber features. Sign-in is handled by Auth0 (see the privacy policy).
• You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
• One person, one account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
• A free account gives access to the free surfaces of the site. It does not include the subscriber features described on the pricing page.

3. Plans, what they include, and how they differ

Paid subscriptions are sold as monthly plans. Every plan receives the same analytics on live and upcoming racecards — the full computed feature set, VPR and its confidence bands, all computed from the full historical archive. Plans differ only in how far back you may browse historical content (past results, individual form lines, VPR history charts and similar), and in whether the AI research assistant is included:

Windows are rolling and measured from today's date at the moment you make a request. Content outside your window is shown as locked, with a count of what is there and the plan that would unlock it. Prices are stated on the pricing page at the time you subscribe and include VAT where it applies.

4. Billing, trials, upgrades and cancellation

• Payment is by card through Stripe's hosted checkout. We never see or store your card number.
• Monthly renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month on the day you subscribed until you cancel.
• Free trial. Where a plan is offered with a free trial, your card is collected at checkout and the first charge is made when the trial ends. Cancel before then and nothing is charged. One trial per account, ever.
• Changing plan. You can move between plans from the billing portal on your account page. Stripe prorates the difference for the rest of the current month.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time from the billing portal. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for; there is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.
• Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it and emails you. Subscriber access is suspended while the payment is outstanding and restored when it succeeds.
• Refunds. Monthly fees are not refundable for part months, except where the law requires it or where we have failed to provide the service for a substantial part of the month, in which case contact us.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the platform, or any data or analytics obtained from it, to operate, supply, price for, or otherwise support a bookmaker, sportsbook, betting exchange, or any business that accepts wagers on racing — this is a licence condition of the data we work with and applies whether the use is direct or through a third party;
• scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or systematically extract content from the site, or access it by any automated means other than a normal web browser;
• share your account, resell access, or let anyone else use the subscriber features through your sign-in;
• attempt to bypass a plan's browsing window, the request limits, or any other access control;
• republish, redistribute or make available to others the data or analytics from the platform, in whole or in substantial part, other than as allowed in section 6.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches this section. Where practical we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

6. Content licence

The site's content — the analytics, VPR, feature values, text and design — is owned by Veredus or its licensors. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view and use that content for your own research. You may quote small extracts (a runner's figures, a chart) with attribution to Veredus Analytics. You may not build a product or service on it, feed it to a commercial model, or present it as your own.

The open course-topology dataset is a deliberate exception: it is published under the Open Database Licence and its own terms apply — see data licences.

7. The AI research assistant (Max plan)

• Fair use. The assistant is included on the Max plan up to a monthly allowance of questions, shown in the product. When the allowance is used up it pauses until the next month; there is no automatic extra charge.
• What it does. It answers questions about races, horses, jockeys, trainers and courses using the platform's own analytics, and shows the numbers it used. It is built and instructed never to select a winner, predict a result or advise on wagering, and its answers are checked for that language before you see them.
• Accuracy. It is a research aid, not an authority. It can misread a question or summarise imperfectly. Check the underlying figures on the race and profile pages before relying on anything it says.
• Your questions are processed by a third-party AI provider on our instruction, and stored with the answer so you can revisit them and so we can review quality — see the privacy policy.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep the platform available and the data current, but it is provided as it is. Racing data arrives from external sources and can be late, corrected or withdrawn; we pass corrections through as we receive them. We may add, change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what your plan includes, section 10 applies.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the subscription fees you paid in that period, and we are not liable for any loss arising from decisions you make on the basis of the platform's content, including any wagering loss.

10. Changes to these terms and to plans

We may update these terms and the plans. For a change that affects what your subscription includes or costs, we will email the address on your account at least 14 days before it applies to you, and the change will take effect from your next renewal after that notice. You can cancel before the renewal if you do not accept it. Continuing to use the platform after the effective date is acceptance. Minor changes that do not affect your plan are posted here with a new version number and date.

11. General

• These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
• If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• We may transfer this agreement to a successor business that takes on the platform; you may not transfer it.
